Spherical Waves are coming to Lisbon
April 08, 2020
A great silver and blue wave made of mirror-polished steel spheres will become a part of the landscape of Lisbon.
The project by Cyril Lancelin not only brings to mind the great waves of Portugal but also reflect the topography of the city for its hills which offer a beautiful view of the ocean.
Both sculptures will be located outside, therefore will be easy to maintain and more importantly – easy to access. One of the crucial assumptions of the investor (Free Port – the biggest shopping center operator in Portugal) was that the artwork should be interactive and allow visitors to enter and walk around.
Installation is scheduled for May 2021.
